For a calmer visit, come after Mangal Aarti in the early morning or in the afternoon window from 13:15 to 16:00, and avoid Mondays in Shravan and Maha Shivaratri, when the trust says its standard rules may not apply.

How to read the Omkareshwar schedule

Omkareshwar publishes one of the clearer timetables among the Jyotirlingas. The breaks are short and the free darshan window is long; what trips visitors up is the ticket rules and the sanctum rules.

No booking needed Normal darshan

The trust's FAQ states normal darshan is free and does not require booking. Shighra Darshan tickets are optional.

A timed slot Shighra Darshan

Valid only in the booked time slot, not usable during service breaks, and available only until 20:00.

Midday break Madhyanha Bhog

Under an hour, much shorter than the afternoon closures at many South Indian temples.

Evening break Sayamkalin Shringar

One table on the trust's page gives 16:00 to 16:15 and another 16:00 to 16:30, so allow the longer break.

After Shayan Aarti Last darshan

The trust states darshan is closed after 22:30.

Palanquin procession Somwar Sawari

Every Monday a golden palanquin carries a three-faced image of Omkareshwar in procession from Koti Tirth Ghat.

  • Timings on Maha Shivaratri and during Shravan, when the trust says standard rules may not apply.
  • Queue times for free darshan, which nobody outside the temple measures reliably.
  • Whether Shighra Darshan slots sell out at weekends.
