Kamakhya timings through the day

Every day08:00 – 13:00 · 14:30 – 17:15

Best time for darshan. The door is open from 08:00 to 13:00 and from 14:30 to 17:15, so a morning arrival gives the most time. Avoid late June, when the temple is shut for Ambubachi and the reopening days bring the year's biggest crowd. Book special darshan online in advance if you want the shorter queue.

How to read the Kamakhya schedule

Kamakhya closes earlier than most large temples, and the one annual closure is absolute. Those two facts shape a visit more than the clock does.

Not earlier Doors open

The morning rituals at 05:30 and 06:00 come before the doors open to devotees.

Closed Bhog

The door closes for the cooked offering to the goddess.

For the night Doors close

Much earlier than at most temples; the 19:30 aarati follows.

Different programme 09:00 to sunset

On special days such as Durga Puja, the door opens at 09:00 and closes at sunset.

June Three days closed

In 2026 the door was closed from 23 to 25 June and reopened on the morning of 26 June.
